Answers to your Questions

Should I give the corporate division its own name? How do I handle same-day orders? Or multiple deliveries at the same time? Get answers to these common questions and more.

  1. Q) “ Should I give my corporate drop-off division a separate name?”
  2. A) There is no right or wrong answer. Some companies add, “Express” or “On The Road” or “Corporate Catering” after the name. (Example: ABC Catering – Express). First, create a separate menu for this division of your business. Then decide on a branding strategy.
  1. Q) “ How should I handle requests for same day orders?”
  2. A) Embrace them. As your business grows, calls for same-day orders will increase. Establish which production-friendly, same-day menu items you can offer. If you are booked solid for noon deliveries, tell your customer you can deliver by 12:30.
  1. Q) “ How much should I charge for delivery?”
  2. A) Check out what your competitors are charging for delivery and stay within that range. If you’re providing quality, on-time delivery, err on the higher side of the range. These charges, (revenue), can add up quickly.

SALES SCRIPTS

“Hi, this is (insert your name). I am (title/role) from (Your Company). I was hoping to get the name of the person to send our new corporate catering menu to.”

In most cases you will get one of the following responses:

What to say to the response “That would be me.”

The dialog should go something like this:

“Great! What is your name?”

“Iam Hungry”

“Would you mind spelling the last name?”

“H u n g r y.”

“Thanks, Iam. And your address is 123 Main Street?”

“Correct.”

“Thank you. About how many times a month do you have food brought in?”

“4-5 times.”
